Session 1

  1. Creating the 2D concept in Photoshop
  2. Creating front and side views

Session 2

  1. Starting a model in SILO
  2. Importing background images
  3. Start the Head model with a Cube
  4. Instance mirror across an axis
  5. Starting to use the basic tools
    - Select Face loop
    - Split face loop
    - Split Polygon
    - Smooth
  6. Configuring your mouse in SILO
  7. Sculpt the basic form with a limited amount of Polygons
  8. Using Ghost Shade to make Polygons transparent

Session 3

  1. Add a Material to the head
  2. Add a Sphere as a place-marker for the eye
  3. Model the eye areas from a single polygon
  4. using the Extrude Edge feature
  5. Tweaking single vertex to form the shape of the eye patch
  6. Matching the Eye to the reference image
  7. Create a Nose Patch using Extrude Edge
  8. Join the Eye and Nose patches
  9. Attach the Eye and Nose to the head
  10. Create the mouth and chin

Session 4

  1. Add detail to the inside of the mouth
  2. Add Horns using the Extrude commandMatch the form of the model back to the reference images
  3. Refine the mesh whilst sub-divided
  4. Box model a separate Ear
  5. Detail the ear
  6. Attach the ear to the head
  7. Use Soft Selection to match the geometry to the reference image

Session 5

  1. Check for Polygon flow and sub-division issue
  2. Re-work Polygons to fix poles and Ngons
  3. Extrude geometry for the neck
  4. Create Gums using Box modeling
  5. Create Teeth from Primitives
  6. Detail level over the entire model adding wrinkles, creases, blemishes etc.
  7. Final pass for detail
  8. Mirror the Geometry to make a complete model
  9. Break the Symmetry
  10. Use Soft Selection to do minor adjustments to the mesh and ensure a final match with the reference image
